Responsible Gaming
Gambling (also known as "betting" or "gaming") involves the wagering of something of value ("the stakes") on any event, game of chance or skill, with an uncertain outcome together with the intent of winning something else of value ("the prize".) Often, people who gamble risk money in hopes of winning a greater sum of money. For example, a person might risk the cost of a lottery ticket for the chance at winning a large multi-million dollar jackpot. When we think about gambling, often places like casinos or racetracks come to mind, but gambling occurs in other places too, such as gas stations, church halls, sporting events and on the Internet.
Responsible gaming is an integral part of the Wyoming Gaming Commission's daily operations. Together with our partners, the Wyoming Gaming Commission is committed to fostering an environment of responsible gaming - and addressing problem gambling head on - to ensure that patrons play responsibly and provide help to those who may need it. This means investing time in employee training, dedicating resources to promoting responsible gaming education, and working to protect consumers. With the expansion of legal gaming across the great state of Wyoming, we are committed to educating seasoned bettors and new customers alike on how to keep gaming fun. These efforts include, but are not limited to, the following:
Responsible Gaming Plan
Self-Exclusion Program
Property Signage and Responsible Gaming Disclosures
Advertising Restrictions
Wager and Time Limits
Treatment and Research Funding
Youth and Young Adult Prevention Programs
