Appeals
Appeals that meet the statutory criteria, W.S. §§ 11-25-101 through 11-25-113 and the Wyoming Gaming Commission Rules of Racing and Pari-Mutuel Events will be reviewed. An appeal must be in writing on a form prescribed by the Commission. If the Commission determines the appeal to be frivolous, the appellant may be subject to a fine. Of the decisions made by the stewards, the only ones that, by statute, may be appealed to the Commission are those involving fines and suspensions. All other decisions of the stewards are considered final and non appealable to the Commission.
Pursuant to Wyoming Gaming Commission Rules of Racing and Pari-Mutuel Events Chapter III Sec. 2 (a) (i), such request must be filed in writing at the office of the Commission within five (5) days of the date of notice of the penalty or imposition of discipline. Pursuant to Wyoming Gaming Commission Rules of Racing and Pari-Mutuel Events Chapter III Sec 2 (a) (vi), a decision by the stewards regarding a disqualification for interference during the running of a race is final and may not be appealed to the commission.
